Okie. This time round's post is totally different from the rest. I'm doing a 'novelisation' of certain scenes from the Jap-drama 'Emergency Room 24 Hours, Series 3' particularly those on Doctor Shindo in Episode 2. It's really very long, and I hope you guys can comment on this post on my Tagboard! The story's not accurate to the actual drama, and I've accented certain parts too, cut off a lot, put in my share of opinions of what Shindo was thinking. I'm writing this 2 days after I watched the episode, you see, so much info'll be wrong. But I'm writing this because the whole thing is just so...touching. (note: the italics are Shindo's inner thoughts)('in-house doctor' refers to the actual owner of the clinic. I forgot his name. Shindo's just a passerby doctor who decides to help take control of the clinic for the distressed 'in-house doctor'.)

I can't possibly save everybody. Only those who still have a chance of survival, and those not just lightly injured.
"What kind of doctor are you?! You're not saving lives; you're just leaving my wife to die?!", the man screamed with fury. Yes. And I'm so sorry. There's too many victims to treat here at this small clinic right now. Shindo locked the door of the clinic from the inside, which was soon banged on hard by the screaming man outside. Sorry. Shindo faced the doctor of the clinic, who was standing in front of a patient with a ruptured artery.
"Let's get started."

--flashback--

When he came to the nearest clinic around soon after the earthquake occured to send in someone he helped get out of a rubble, there were dozens of others waiting to be cured. Some were in need of immediate medical attention, some just suffering from minor injuries, while some were beyond saving. Too many. Not all can be cured here and now. Shindo went directly to the Consultation Room of the clinic. "Sorry, no one is allowed to enter. Please wait in the queue," the nurse-assistant told him. "Anaesthesia?" the in-house doctor, who was treating a patient, asked the nurse. Anaesthesia for only a leg bruise? Shindo felt ridiculed. He frowned, "Do you have enough anaesthesia?" "Huh?" "There're over 10 patients outside. If they don't need it, don't give it to them. Some require necessary anaesthesia."
That's it. Even the in-house doctor is injured, and can't do things rationally. Someone needs to take charge here. "Who are you?" the nurse-assistant asked. "I'm a doctor. I've worked for the Humanitarian Relief Aid," Shindo explained while flashing his doctor's identification card, "You're injured. Let me handle things from here. From now on, just take my orders." Shindo proceeded to take over stitching the current patient's wound from the in-house doctor. He turned to the nurse, "Go outside and choose the patients to treat. Pick those who can still be saved, turn away those with minor or gravely serious injuries. We need to save as many lives as possible."

--back to current situation, a few mins after operating on the ruptured-artery patient.--

The calm and seemingly steady young doctor stood yet again in front of the waiting crowd, telling those who do not necessarily need consultation to head off. They all gave him confused faces, mingled with anger and confusion. "I can't do this anymore," the nurse-assistant broke down, "I just can't turn away my patients." She's right. it's a really tough decision-making task, especially since the whole neighbourhood knows her and the in-house doctor like friends. Shindo took in a deep but quick breath.
"Then I'll do it for you."
He headed towards a fellow earthquake victim sitting directly in front of him and examined the injury. Just a broken bone and a bruise. "We can't treat you here. Please go to another clinic or hospital. They might have the basic supplies needed for you there." The victim's companion gave Shindo a questioning look.
Next person. "What happened to him?" Shindo asked the people who brought this other guy to the clinic. His skin...So many burns..."His motorcycle fell on him while he was riding it, doctor," came the reply. Too terribly injured. "He has burns on 80% of his body. I'm sorry. He's beyond treatment here. I can't save him," Shindo concluded, and stood up to proceed to another victim.
All eyes were on the doctor who had just openly refused to treat a patient. All this while, a 40+ yr old man standing a distance from Shindo's back had been fuming while watching the doctor check and then chase his patients away. The man stomped towards Shindo; he wanted to give the 'damned' doctor a piece of his mind, "That's enough!!" He held Shindo by the shoulder to spin him so around so that they could meet face-to-face.
Tears. Shindo said nothing, but there were tears welled up in his eyes, this 'heartless' doctor's eyes. I don't enjoy doing this. I hate this; I want to be able to treat everyone here, but that's just not possible. Simply not possible. The fuming man was shocked to see what he now saw in Shindo's expression: Desperation.
"We need to save as many lives as we can now," the doctor finally spoke again, keeping his calm composure. "There are many people who need help right now. And all those who can walk can help them." Shindo turned back to face the crowd, "Right now as I speak, your very own neighbourhood's doctor's wife is still missing." Many became wide-eyed. The was-fuming man looked at the in-house doctor's direction, who was watching the scene from the door of his clinic, and asked, "Is that true, doctor?" The in-house doctor nodded slowly. "All my life, I've never felt so paranoid before. My missing wife, my house, my children...I have to put them all aside now, so that I can focus on saving my patients' lives."
Silence.
Then, the man who was about to scream full-force at Shindo just moments ago now spoke quietly, "I understand. We'll go help to look for your wife now." Slowly, one-by-one, certain people from the crowd who considered their situation luckier than some others, stood up to go. "We'll go to look for her too," they said.
Thank you. Thank you so much for understanding. There were now much lesser people left behind, like those who still considered themselves as requiring medical attention, and also those who have already died, as well as their companions. Shindo walked back towards the entrance of the clinic. "Let's go back in," he told the in-house doctor, "We still have lives to save."

AHH!!! Why does the stupid skool take away 1 whole wk of my rightful ONE MONTH of my skool holidays???!! 3 weeks is way to short to do both studying, revesion and catching up with social life after all the crapping CAs that you've given me, ya'know?!

Hmm...I just finished updating my friendster profile...I'm trying to get my primary skool friends to SMS me their hp numbers, bcos I don't have any of theirs ever since my M55 got stolen last April. I'm so sleepy...I keep doing this: wake up at 8-8.30 am, straight away switch on the comp and surf the net, having breakfast (pathetic sandwiches) at the same time. Then I either watch TV or go out. Never go study. (Oh well, I'm meeting Raidah to study together tomorrow...we're studying Bio) I've got a real bad feeling that I'm not gonna do well for Block CAs...

Okie, I wanna go watch TV while ironing, then I'm going out to Bugis Junction. Doing some Great S'pore Sale shopping (Is it really "Great"? I know the sale at Seiyu is always great...dunno about other places...)

Oh ya, I fell in love with the Hao Image song "Inyou no Chigiri" (aka Pledge of the Yin Yang). It's so...trad-jap. It's the 1st time an anime song sounds so uber trad-jap. And I like Asakura Hao too!

I just found out that i like yet another Jap actor: Hideaki Ito. He acted in practically most of my fav Jap movies/dramas, like Umizaru, Onmyoji, Emergency 24 hours, Princess Blade. Oh well, that'll mean he's joining Takuya Kimura and some others in my list of Fav Jap Guys. Heh.

Oh shit! Hafta get outta the house in 10 mins but still haven't bathe yet!!! Argh!!

Anyway, I'll make this quick. I've really been considering to find the perfect material to cosplay as Lyserg sometime when the opportunity arises. But again, (as always,) NO MONEY!!! It's easy to cosplay Lyserg; I'd only need to make his cloak, because his shirt and pants are normal everyday-life things (thank god!). maybe other than the cloak, I'd need to make the red bow for his collar and buy the belt. I'm also thinking of having a haircut and hair dress-up to look just like his on the day of cosplaying itself. His hair's not that short, so I think it's quite ok.

In any case, I think I can only take part in the next cosplay that is only after my O Levels, so that I won't get distracted. but the more I don't start doing anything about making the costume, the more I'd be distracted! So how??!!!

OH SHIT!!! 5 mins to bathe and dress up and close the damn windows! SHIT!!!

Before, this, I don't think I ever knew what codes were, or what purpose they served. Until...

One day (2 days ago, actually), I came across a Juvenile Orion fanlisting site. I joined it, then explored the site...and found this page titled "Codes". As I was looking at the many many beautiful boxes with pictures in them, I realised they looked damn familiar. Thinking back, I remembered when I lead a very carefree and truly, truly anime-dominated life, and surfing as many fan sites as I could, I always saw these small boxes around. Then (*surprise*!) I knew at that moment what the boxes were for. They're to be kinda a proof that you're a fan of "etc. anime/chara/etc" just by placing them on your site. And therefore, I downloaded as many different (only pretty) anime codes as I could. Up to date, I've managed to find 6. (The "Howl's" code, by the way, is the latest. The "Juvenile Orion" one is the oldest [1st to be inserted])

So how do you find them? Nice?
(I admit, I'm an internet gundu and expert at the same time...what a sad life...)

Guess what I've been doing for the past few days? (I can't believe this...) I was actually promoting my blog (this blog) to everyone I know that comes my way! (How embarrassing!) In any case, I'm so glad I've finally managed to reduce the text size of the tag board form...

Oh ya...Juvenile Orion! I re-read the manga (vol. 1) again last night...They're all SO handsome! I'm kind of determined to buy the file or hp strap...(sadly, I'm low on income...) Here are the characters of Juvenile Orion!

Okie! I found this template @ blogskins.com, and immediately chose to use it for my newly-made blog! Don't you think it's nice? aoi-chan, if you reading this, I'm thanking you so much for making this template!!!

Know what? Actually I don't know much about this super-cool anime, Fullmetal Alchemist as it is titled. I just fell in love with it last year when it was such a fab in S'pore's tiny anime world. I'm gonna be renting the manga sometime soon, and I'll definitely buy the anime VCD box set when it comes out in the market!
